Football on the Peninsula is close: Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara is a short drive from Paul’s Los Altos studio on El Camino Real. Andersen Sports Massage is built for athletes who need firm, precise work — linemen, skill players, quarterbacks, high-school and college football, adult flag, and former players who still carry the game in their shoulders and hips.
Independent practice. Paul Andersen, NMT is not employed by the San Francisco 49ers or the NFL, and this is not an official team site. If you already have a club trainer or physician, this work is meant to sit beside that plan, not replace it.
What he can do is private, assessment-led sports massage for football bodies: collision load, turf and grass cutting, the one-sided patterns of a position, and the tightness that shows up on Monday when the film session starts. Sessions are clothed, with no oils. Pressure is genuinely deep when the tissue can take it.
It takes an athlete to work on an athlete
Working on a pro or high-level football body takes real strength. Dense quads, a lineman’s shoulders, a skill player’s hamstrings — most spa pressure fades before it reaches the layer that is actually limiting you. Paul Andersen has that strength. He can hold genuine deep pressure for the length of a session, then stay precise instead of just leaning harder. Clients who train hard often say the same thing: it takes an athlete to work on an athlete.
That is the difference between a light rubdown and clinical sports work. Paul has nearly 20 years of this, including elite competitors. He will not overpower tissue that needs less. He will not back off a guarded hip or a collision shoulder just because the last therapist got tired.
Close to Levi’s Stadium, private in Los Altos
The studio is at 4546 El Camino Real, Suite B2, in the Village Court Shopping Center — typically about 15 minutes from Levi’s Stadium depending on traffic. For visiting athletes, Paul also does mobile and in-home sessions at hotels and rentals in Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, and along the mid-Peninsula. Text or call 408-329-3900 and say you need football-focused work.
This is not a spa table near the stadium. It is clinical neuromuscular and deep-tissue work for people who actually play, or used to, and want to keep moving.
What a football session targets
Linemen
Shoulders, pecs, hips, and low back that take repeated contact and a crouched stance.
Skill players
Hamstrings, calves, ankles, and the lateral hip that bark after cuts and special-teams reps.
Quarterbacks & throwers
Throwing-shoulder, thoracic spine, and the hip that has to stay mobile in the pocket.
In-season vs off-season
Lighter restore-and-glide work during the week; deeper change-oriented work when the calendar allows.
Who this page is for
Current or former players who live in Los Altos, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, or Palo Alto. High-school and college football on the Peninsula. Adults in flag or rec leagues. Traveling athletes who want a quiet table away from the hotel gym. Trainers looking for a private referral who will not over-promise.
If you have a suspected fracture, concussion protocol, or a team restriction on outside bodywork, follow that first. Soft-tissue work is not a medical diagnosis.

Frequently asked questions
Are you the official 49ers or NFL team massage therapist?
No. Andersen Sports Massage is an independent Los Altos practice. Paul is not employed by the San Francisco 49ers or the NFL. This page is for football athletes who live, train, or stay on the Peninsula and want private clinical bodywork.
Do you work with current professional players?
Paul works with athletes at every level, including people who play or have played at a high level. Booking is private. He does not speak for a team medical staff, and he will not interfere with a club’s existing treatment plan.
Is the pressure actually deep enough for a football body?
Yes. Pro and high-level tissue is dense. It takes real strength to reach it and stay there. Paul has that strength — it takes an athlete to work on an athlete — and he dials it so you can breathe instead of bracing.
Can you come to a hotel near Levi’s Stadium?
Yes. Mobile sessions are available across Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, and the mid-Peninsula, including hotel and in-home visits around game week. Text 408-329-3900 with the address and timing.
When should a football player book around a game?
Keep deep, change-oriented work several days away from a start. The night before is usually the wrong time to chase a stubborn knot. After a game, wait until the worst soreness has settled, then come in to restore range rather than grind already angry tissue.
Do I need to undress?
No. Work is clothed, with no oils or draping. Wear shorts and a shirt you can move in.
